Ok, These 3 thing could lead to possible intake of foreign object to wrong area within its body. (lungs ect.?) Besides the fact that some potting soils may if not organic can contain poisonous chemicals resulting in Hallucinations and such? just a guess.

Stick with your Chams! You appear to be a fine owner, in which is willing to learn to succeed in taking care of them here. Let the advice of some roll quickly OFF your back and pay attention to those that DO HELP YOU! :):D
Drill hole on bottom of tray, to appropriate size (a tad smaller than a plastic hose you plan to use). Insert, seal around hose, and run into your bucket that you can dump at a later time.
