Where can I get preformed A? It’s Spanish moss and really The plan was to have it temporary for a few months until the plants grow in. I felt like it was very bare and he wasn’t able to hide. He loves sleeping in there on the other side facing into the cage it’s open so it’s like a little cave lol.
He gets repti calcium without d3 and bee pollen. His UVB is about 6 months old so he’s probably due for a new one and I don’t have a solar meter but the UVB is 6 inches away from his back when he’s basking
Hi so I’ve been noticing two new behaviors in my Panther chameleon who is slightly older than 1 year. I got him at 4 months and these new behaviors are fairly recent. I’m wondering if these are normal behaviors or not?
The first thing I have noticed is a weird shed cycle. He will shed his 4...
Update - He’s been completely normal for as long as I’ve seen today and even ate a cricket this morning shooting his tongue. I also have checked multiple times for visible signs of RI and don’t see much problems.
idk but his mouth was closed. He doesnt hiss at me a whole lot anymore but when he was younger he was more fiesty and would open his mouth real big and hiss lol
in the last month there has been 3 times when I get near him with my hand usually he gets defensive but I noticed there were a few times where he kinda sneezed at me. I have only ever heard it when he was in defensive mode next to my hand
Crickets (main diet), superworms about 3 a week, he recently had about 5 horn worms in the last week because I bought a 5 pack and 1 grew to a very large size and I made sure to feed all hornworms in a plastic cup. He refuses to eat discoid roaches. also he ate a wax worm from my hands yesterday...
as of this morning before I noticed issues he ate fine. But to be fair I fed him I turned around and back around and he had a cricket in his mouth then I left out the door to work. Yesterday he ate out of my hand which was a big step for him overcoming how scary I am. I supplement repticalcium...
10 month male panther chameleon. I just noticed today his mouth is slightly open and his tongue is hanging out a little bit. Is this a raspatory infection?
You’re right about that. There are things around him that are a little bit higher than him. There’s some shelvings that hold the wires from the lights and a dripper held up above. It also doesn’t help that I’ve installed a vine outside his enclosure that he hangout on
Yes I didn’t mean feeding the Cham directly greens. I meant it as a gutload options for bugs. I have a very hard time finding the greens that are on the safe gutload list. I only get the basics like kale and lettuce or spinach. What greens do you use that you can find at a local grocery store?
I have a hard time finding leafy greens that are on the safe list. I see a lot of lettuce and kale and from what I understand that is a no no. So I stick with the things I know are safe. The calcium plus people actually use as a daily and I was told by my breeder to use it daily but from my own...
For your morning misting I’d recommend misting 30 minutes before lights on so once he wakes up he can drink the dew droplets off the leaves like in the wild. I personally like to run the mister 2 hours after lights off so it keeps the cage wet and humid all night. Then during the day you want it...
Yeah having a bit more plants to hide in is a goal of mine. I don’t have a lot more room to add a tree or anything. I have an assortment of plants like pothos and a fern planted at the bottom that has yet to take over the cage like I want. I’m just kinda waiting for plants to grow in. And the...
