You’re a lifesaver. Thank you so much again!
I will try and call the vet tomorrow and see what can be done about antibiotics.
Fingers crossed it isn’t super expensive, the only vet I know that will see chameleons is in my hometown and Cairo hates car rides *sigh*
No worries!! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to help me with this.
I will look into the new attachments for the cage to better attach her vines.
She does have a pothos and she likes it, but since I think the money tree is so bigger she focuses on it more. I will be...
Thank you for letting me know! I will go and order some right now.
She definitely is on the bigger side of being a chameleon from what I know (not as in weight but actual size) so I felt a bit bad and that I was “under feeding” her, but I am eager for advice on how to do better and care for her...
Thank you! She is a bit of an odd ball because she is pretty friendly with me, my sweet girl. Whenever I open her cage she is always reaching for me to do a little crawl before going back inside.
I will attach a picture below of her enclosure. The only fake plants she has are thin vines that...
Does this look like early onset mouth rot?
She eats a diet of superpowers, meal worms or crickets about every other day (5-6) and vegetables almost every single day.
I know she is about to lay eggs so she’s a bit grumpy.
Other than that, she has been eating and drinking normally.
Please...
This is it! In my hurry I ended up getting a dish that was 4” for her laybin, but I will be getting a larger one. It was also brought to my attention that she would need a bigger cage as she got larger, so I will be accommodating for that.
I am in the process of searching for live plants, and I...
This is Cairo today- still only laid the one egg and hasn’t made a move to the bottom of her cage. Her new light, liquid calcium without d3 and new misting/fogging system is coming today!
Her appetite has not returned, she literally stepped on a cricket that was on a branch and crushed it as...
I am very glad I came here too!!! She laid an egg this morning (didn’t try to dig or bury, just on the top of the laybin…. but at least it’s progress!!) so it’s good to know that she’s progressing hopefully as she should.
From the bottom of my heart I really do appreciate everyone’s feedback...
I will be implenting all you changes as soon as possible… I really cannot thank you enough for taking the time out of your day to help me and Cairo. It means the world
This is the first time in my care she has ever shown that pattern or color. I always read that that color and pattern meant immediate death, never anything about being gravid… guess you really can’t alway trust the internet!
The video had another medium, but should I just get the sand and a tubber ware bin?
No, not once! She’s always been the green color except when she’s hunting, then she gets all spotty. But never that dark
You guys are seriously life savers. I’ll be making updates, but hopefully my local petsmart/ animal supply store will have the necessary supplies or else I will be scrambling around town
WOW…. What a shock. I feel lied to, and horrible that I was unaware. I will be rushing to the store immediately to make a laybin, I pray I’m not too late and nothing bad happens.
She was only that dark color for 2 minutes, and then went back to green.
Thank you for the reply, and everyone else who is coming together!
You say Cairo is a female? When he… she? came into my care I was informed that Cairo was a male and guaranteed that Cairo had been sexed and identified as a male. I will make a laybin regardless, but could you please tell me...
Any help is appreciated! Sorry if the below information seems sporadic, I am brand new to the forums and very concerned, and a little out of my comfort zone on this one. This week hasn’t gone too great and this seems to be the icing on the cake unfortunately. I tried to be as thorough as...
