Problem is that when I stop the dubia's, they still have to eat and they don't want the dubia's right now. Should I not feed them anything for a week or two and then re-introduce the dubia's?
My dubia's have exploded from the summer heat/humidity. Now that I have an over abundance, my ambanja's decided that they are going to be finicky and will not touch them. They really go after the superworms, but have turned a cold shoulder towards the dubia's. Anyone have any advise to coax...
Hey everybody,
Anyone ever try to introduce a female into a males cage and have it look like everything is ok, colors are fine etc.... then without any warning the male goes ape sh_t and goes after the female? I almost did not get her out of there. He is very fast, but thank god she is much...
Hornworms
I fed wild hornworms right off of my tomatoes plants in my backyard for years. Each year when the tomatoes were back in season, I would begin to see the little hornworms on the leaves. I would just wait until they were the right size and fed them to my Jacksons. I never had a...
Vit. A
Update for everyone. After taking my Ambanja to the vet day before yesterday (Tues), I am happy to report rapid changes for the better. He no longer periodically closes his eyes and is much more active. I may be seeing things, but he actually looks much more like he used to, very...
Transporting
I took mine to the vet the other day and did it the same way as Heika. Box with a branch and darkness. He slept all the way there and all the way back.
Vit. A
I gutload my feeders (superworms, dubias) with apple, orange, fish food, gutload mix from LLL reptile, ground up dog food, breads, greens, etc... I use these two insects for the base of my feedings and sometimes throw in some crickets, silk worms, horned worms etc... I did not have...
Hey everybody,
My male Ambanja started to get some growth on his eyes and spots on his body a couple of weeks ago. It got to the point where I thought I needed to see a vet. The vet said he was suffering from a Vit. A deficiency and gave him a drop in the corner of his mouth. Vet said that...
Had some what of the same problem and fixed it by simply placing the Cham in the shower for a period of 30 min. 2-3 times a week and it went away in a week. Even though he apperaed to be fine, I think he was dehydrated!!!!!
Absolutely top notch!!!! I can't wait to see some of the results in the future. I would expect to see great animals coming out of an environment that is low stress, clean at all times, climate controlled, etc..... Fantastic job. I am so jealous.
I thought that was the way they sometimes came. My female Ambanja that I ordered from the Chameleon Company was like that from the time I opened the package when she was delivered.
The almighty dollar
That's what it boils down to is money. The sooner they move the babies the sooner they can fill the cage with more to be sold. Why don't you put the name of the place on this site and we will try and change the way they do buisness. Remember, there are codes and...
Customer service
What chance is there that you might bring something from the vet back to the pet store you bought the cham from and showed the owner that the animal was clearly sick when purchased. Ask for another animal as getting your money back these days is nearly impossible.
If anyone is interested, I get my silkworms and Tomato/horned worms from Mulberryfarms.com. They are absolutly the best and I have never had a single doa in any of my transactions with them.
