So I guess I don't have a single specifically worded question on the subject, I just wanted to instigate a discussion so you more technical people could assure me about the safety of using other bulbs to help the plants grow better and why it's necessary.
My concern is that we see written so...
Everything was going well for the first 4 months of free ranging. Phineas seemed happy and kept to his FR and the blinds.
Then about two months ago he started to become interested in the bird.
Staring at the bird and sleeping right behind his cage.
I don't know how to tell...
My husband and I are looking at getting some live plants for our chameleons and I am wondering what everyones preferance as to which plants are best? We were thinking about getting Ficus Plants and moving them outside for some free range ( when the weather is right) so even if they are plants...
Star "Confederate" Jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides)
I found this on a safe plants list, but when I did some more research I read it is poisonous if ingested, I was unable to find it on the forums. Can anybody tell me if I should not be using this? Here is a picture of what I have...
I've always thought this ficus was the best for chameleons, so when I saw them at Home Depot I grabbed one right away. It'll go in Leo's next cage which I plan to get in the next month or two. The tree is Ficus bennendijkii I believe and is similar to the benjamina except it has these long...
I've had my cham for about 7 months now and just recently she has started to eat the live plant I have in there.
It's a pothos and I know it's on the cham safe list but my question is she supposed to eat it? and is there a reason she has started? (not feeding her enough, bored etc..)
I purchased a couple of used cages from Jadeaudio. They came in on thursday and so today I set one of them up for Caddie. She has been in need of a proper screen cage.
The cage is 18x24x30, perfect for a small female. The plants I have are gonna need to grow a bit to fill the cage up. Since...
Spring is here and I thought it would be lovely to share pictures of Mother Nature and all her creatures in the wild. It helps on those gloomy days, to see something beautiful!
This is my son blowing one of those fluffy dandelion weeds
Here is the patch he picked it from

I am currently in the set up stage, its probably going to last the next few months, haha but excited anyways.
Query:
I would like to have grape vines, or ivy, or something climbing up the back and/or sides of the enclosure, I recall that grape leaves were safe for iguanas, so I am thinking...
So tonight I was re-potting plants for my chams. I took some pics and wanted to share them. This is just how I did it and by no means the bible of re-potting. I do however suggest that you wash all plants with dish soap thoroughly and then rinse thoroughly.
The first step was filling the pot...
Over the past couple of months there have been a few posts asking about what flowering plants to use in chameleon enclosures. One of my favourites is Camellia. It doesn't demand as much light as Hibiscus, yet also manages to cope with the high volume of water in a cham enclosure.
Plus, the...
I bought one of these for a room decoration... Was just curious if anyone could tell me if it is safe for Chams or not? Thanks...

Well with getting the new Herp Room all set up I got very little chance to get on the boards this weekend... But the room is looking nice, and the Chams are settling in nicely.
This is a plant Question.. .and I am no Botanist...I was at Lowes Saturday picking up some more plants and I found...
Our first chameleon ever! He's stunning and full of personality (we're only on day 2!) You guys are awesome! Confusing and complicated for people who have never owned anything requiring basking light, UVB, gut loading, etc.
