1 Year Feeding Change.

So since Coda is a year old now I know that I need to cut back her feeding, but how much? Like every other day?

Our adults we feed Monday, Wednesday’s and Fridays.
Number of feeders would depending on the feeder:
Crickets - 4
Super worms - 2
Horned worms - 1 or 2 depending on the size
Silk worms - 2 or 3
Moths- 1 or 2 depending on the size.
Phoenix worms - a pinch full.

We rotate these feeders.

I feed Tues, Thurs, and Sat. I agree it depends on the bug... I try to gauge it by how “heavy” a meal it is. Usually their meals look like:

  • 1 med/lrg dubia + hornworm + 1-2 silkworms
  • 4 med/lrg silkworms + 2 med supers + as much bsfl as they’ll eat
  • 1 med/lrg grasshopper + hornworm
  • 5-6 crickets + 1-2 silks
My guys tend to lose interest as they get close to those numbers, especially the panthers. I try to offer a soft bodied + crunchy bug each feeding.

I feed the girls less and/or small bugs.

Yea, Coda usually give up at around 3-4 Dubias, she gets a super once a week. I’m working on getting some silks, So could I just feed her every other day and be fine?

Yep. Might want to ease her into it for a week. Give her a few less, and feeder her every day... then the following week switch to every other. I still sneak my guys a small “snack” on the days they arent supposed to eat.
