okay I just got 2 baby panther chameleons they are very small I just want to know when I should separate the two when they get older. I'm keeping them together now because its just easier while they are smaller they are about the size of my thumb nail. just want to know when or when you all would thanks they are in a 18x18x36 now

How small is small? That's a pretty big cage for what I consider baby panthers. You could keep them together until 3-5 months or so. Depends on the chameleons. If you see them constantly climbing on each other, split them up.

The size of your thumbnail???

That is tiny. Can we see a picture? If they are that small, it is okay to keep them together for a while. Most hatchlings are kept together in groupings anyways. And being that your chameleons are the size of your thumbnail, they must be recent hatchlings. I have always kept my babies together in groups until they are about 2.5 - 3 months of age. Did you buy these from a breeder?

Yah I agree with jpowell86 about 3 months. I also agree with Seiryu that enclosure seams a little large for chams that small make sure they are eating, and finding their food ok.

Ones a little bigger than my thumb nail and the other is about the size of thumb nail they are tiny I just got them today was thinking of getting a smaller cage for now.

Like I said tiny haha I got them from a guy off here on chameleons for sale they where eating crickets and drinking

Thanks they are amazing I got a little cup in there to hold little crickets and throw a few in there to run around they have found about 4 a piece so far first day so may take them a bit

These guys look no more than a month old. I would suggest keeping them in some kind of tub setup. The 18x18x36 is much too large. Whoever shipped these really shouldn't have, especially to a new keeper (no offense to you, just not good practice). You can also get some Hydei fruit flies, these are a favorite among babies that size.

I have to agree with Seiru, put them in a tub. You can get a 56-60 quart tub at Target or the like for 6 dollars or so. Much easier to contain and keep tract of what they're eating, also easy to clean. You don't need the top, just keep the branches low enough so the chams can't escape. Two babies can stay in there a couple of months.
Be careful with your heat lamp so as not to cook them, watch temps closely at first!

What size tub should I put them in. I'm really scared to hurt them. I have some drosophila flightless fruit flies and small crickets. I didn't know they were this small or I wouldn't have gotten them. I have a 14 inch long 10 inch deep by 12 inch high tub. I have a 5.0 reptisun baking light. It's like 85 in top of cage and 72 to 75 at bottom. Should I put them in this tub? With a few vines and branches

Will this work for them till they get bigger?
