Hi guys i just wanna ask 2 questions. First, when you close your lights at chameleons encoulsure do they start to sleep at that time or later? Second, my little veiled cham's tail became white when he is sleeping (not fully white but its looks brighter) is it a problem? Thanks for any answer :)

Usually people will use a 12 hour day all the time. Some people try to copy sunrise and sunset times. Your cham should get used to your times and usually will go to sleep very soon after the lights are off. If you have a room light on you might find it helps to cover the cage, darkness is best for good rest.
Chams do look brighter when they sleep.....known to the cutesey idiots on this forum as 'cham PJs' :)

I have my lights set to 12 hours roughly following the real sun light hours as far as sunset. Ego usually gets in position to sleep about an hour before lights out and it doesnt take long to fall asleep after lights out.

Hello!

When I got my chameleon, the breeder told me was sleeping at 4pm and waking up at 5pm. After about 4 to 5 days, he got used to the time I was setting him for which was wake up at 8am and sleep at 8pm. Sometimes he falls asleep around 7:30pm other times at 8pm but I am giving him his 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark. I agree with what David said. Chameleons do get lighter when they are asleep which is pretty cool. Every time my chameleon falls asleep and I go looking for where he's sleeping, I can't find him or I have trouble finding him because he camouflages very well with the plants haha.
