I'm sure this is going to sound silly to you all, but this morning I am so happy. Usually Jade will become annoyed with me opening the door and reaching in to fix something or spot clean.. she will retreat to a hiding place and turn a darker color. This morning it seemed like she needed another vine or branch going across, and I am in the process of cleaning sticks for her new big encloseure.. I had the perdect one. While I stuck my hand in and wired the branch in.. and it took a couple minutes to get it right.. she just sat up on her basking branch and watched me. 🥰😄 Happy!! Maybe when it comes time to move things into her new home it won't be as bad as I fear. I dread the thought of totally stressing her out. So this is promising!

It sounds like she’s getting used to and starting to trust you. 😊 She’s such a tiny little cutie. 🤗 Moving her to her new enclosure will cause her some stress regardless, but it’s short lasting stress and she’ll be ok. It’s the long term or very frequent stressors that we need to avoid.

she ate 2 crickets that had jumped to screen, climbed up on her new branch and did a very funny pose and commenced to poop! 🤣
I won't even have time to start setting her new place up this week.. I go back to work after taking a month off to recover from surgery. So I'll just have to work on it little at a time. I'm glad she's still small enough. There's a few things I still want/need to get. 😊
(is there any concern if she steps in her own poo? I have not had a chance to wipe it out yet)

I would think the poo would have fallen down to the floor, so there shouldn’t be any problem with her walking on it.

That is fantastic news! I like to give my babies a little treat after I am done messing in their enclosure too so they know something good happens after I'm adding sticks or cleaning.

Great idea! I need to start her on a treat she really likes. So far she just gets crickets. I might try some wax worms if I can get them. 😊
I believe Dubia.com and rainbowmealworms.com both have those. You could also try some bsfl and let them hatch into flies and watch her hunt them down, thats my favorite!

well I am a sucker for raising my own food for critters.. I'm trying to get a cricket colony going. But I have not researched these flies yet..so not sure how to do it. I think she would love the flies.
Oh she would LOVE flies! There are a couple options, theres BSFL, blue bottle flies and house flies (don't catch the ones in your house, you don't know what they got into)

I used to raise fruit flies for my anoles. I wonder if I could raise the flies in the same way? goodness knows my house will probably become infested! 🤪

I’ve tried my hand at breeding several different feeders, but not bsfl. They are a bit different and not one for the casual insect diy’er. Check out videos on YouTube about how they are bred to get an idea.
