3 1/2 Year Old Veiled Chameleon Stopped Eating Crickets

About 4 days ago my veiled chameleon stopped eating his crickets. After the second day I gave him a super worm to see if he would eat anything else. He ate the superworm but I know that they are not a good staple of a chams diet. I read some instances of this happening to younger chameleons, but none this old. Any advice?

It is important to always give a variety of feeders to your chameleons so this doesn't happen. They can become very finicky when they are only offered a limited menu. I would try dubia, hornworms and superworms for a week or so and start slowly filtering in crickets here and there. He will eat them again, but he is an adult that can go a longer time without food, so he will play you out and refuse them is he wishes. I like to feed crickets and dubia as my constant feeder and supplement with superworms three times a week give or take. I will usually throw in a hornworm three times a week as well amongst other items like katydids, mantids, hawkmoths, etc.

Do you feed your adult veiled every day? My male veiled is 1.5 years old and I feed staple feeders every other day. Roaches, crickets and hornworms (when I have them). He gets a few super worms on off days. I guess it totally depends on the cham on what he/she will eat on a given day. But not eating for more than a few days could point to a health issue.

Thanks for the quick response. I will try that out and see how it goes.

He always ate everyday, and he looks completely normal. I gave him 2 superworms to see if he would eat anything and he ate them as soon as I put them in his dish. I did some more research looks like he is just being stubborn.
