Did the repair men work for the landlord? The reason I ask is the reapir men should carry general liability insurance. It covers any damages they could do to someones property or any persons not assoc with the business during the course of doing business. So their general liability policy would cover ALL of your losses. It was their fault the animals died. Their irresponsible actions results in your losses. I would demand to know the name of the repair company and then I would call them and ask to speak to the owner. I would tell him the situation and ask for his liability carriers name and policy number. He may decide to pay for your losses himself to keep the claim from being filed. (Its worth looking into for that big a loss of time and investment)

Agree. There is defiantly negligence on some one’s part some thing like this should have not happened I know in the State of Florida landlords are required to anounce any time they are going to allow some one in to a renters space or appartment not sure what the laws are in your State.

Thank you everyone for you condolences. I am really torn up about this. I didd check into local mn laws about all this. My renters insurance does not and will not cover the loss of animals and as for the liability of the repair men, it is being looked into but I fear a similar answer. And as for the female she seems to be doing fine seems to still be breathing a bit oddly still but we have a vet appointment today. I do not think I am going to continue to breed rudis as it would be very difficult to find another clutch of F4 rudis to match with this clutch. So If she does come full term successsfuly I will be offering a rare treat to be able to obtain some true captive born F4 Trioceros sternfeldi only to homes or facilities that will try to continue the progress.
The only other good news is that I did turn the heat up in the facility and had one other female revive and I do beleive she is gravid but it is a bit to early to tell and if she is she will be holding my first F5 clutch. However she is from the same line as the previously stated female. Line F has always been a super strong line for some reason and I am thinking its been from the excessivly cool temps I have kept that line in throughout the years (always kept below 64 never above that temp aside from right next to their heat lamps which they never used). This is why I believe these females survived. We can only hope for the best I suppose, time will tell.

He was being a little immature and I asked him to do a little research on his animals before buying them as he had just decided without talking to anybody he would purchase a trio from LLL a couple years back, and he went researching under my profile. He actually doesnt even have them anymore, SHOCKER. Good catch though, If I could have done all this in a few years I would be all over it again. Edit: As for it being a secret, it really wasnt. I have noted on multiple occasions that I have been working with them. And as for posting research, I don't feel the need to do so on the forums as it has all been written down. And it seems like everytime someone posts their methods of doing things on here it tends to honestly go no where all you seem to get is criticizm regarding the temps their kept at, what you feed them, what their kept in, and how many are being kept together in one enclosure. I feel as though I would not have gotten as far as I had, if I would have been posting my progress on these forums. However with that said these are great forums for obtaining knowledge and I have decided to create a thread regarding all the sternfeldi info I have put together over the last 7 years and post it, I just chose not to post during the project.
Sorry for your loss. I can certainly understand you being upset.
A few years ago, I lost 2 adult deremensis, a couple of dozen conehead babies and a few others because the furnace repair men unplugged my heater while they were repairing the furnace....and left it unplugged. The furnace failed again overnight and since the heater wasn't plugged in they all died. Winters in Ontario must be about like yours.

Thats pretty much the same exact situation here... It suck's. I feel like it was karma due to the fact that I had not checkind in on them all day and then finally went super early in the morning to make sure everything was okay. Everything is almost completely automated with the exception of food of course, so it's fine but at the same time I should have stopped in before work bu had decide not to. Instead I get there arou 2 am and find that the landlord has left a note stating "Heat was out, had a repair guy come and fix it all. Hope you dont mind the intrusion." Guess he didnt notice the rudis falling from the branches throughout the day.

I'm telling you if I were you I'd go after the repair mens companies insurance. Thats where your most likely to get some recovered funds. Im in the business I know of which I speak bro...

So I woke up this morning and found 2 babies in the cage on the screen, Since then she has had 4 more. But the thing is she still looks big and she has not had any babies in hours. Is there something wrong, Does she just stay that big or can them giving birth last a LONG time? Also I have 2 that appeared to be dead at first but I left them in there and now they are visibly alive, They are breathing and their eyes are open and moving BUT they are not moving they are just on the bottom of the cage on their sides (is this common) and also any tips from rudis breeders is very much welcomed and appreciated!

Indeed go all the way, i would sue, I bet the years of reasearch and the fact it was several generations is worth at least speaking with a lawyer. Reading yout post had me boiling!
But money does not repair the emotions, I am sorry for your loss and hope you dont give up your passion. Sad story indeed.

Yes and a breeder stepped in (Me)to help the issue and that became one of my final breeding lines right after he (my Cousin) got rid of his sternfeldi. He felt that after that he was not ready to have them. Really people? What he hell? Read the previous post... You guys can go through this profiles previous posts all you want but the fact is probably only half of them are mine and I just recently started really posting when I aquired My K. tenuis as I have started to be more active in the cham community, before that it was few and far between.

Saddened by your loss..Back in the late 90's I had a similar experience. A very small stove fire caused my then girlfriend to call the insurance company. The "disaster restoration specialists" came into the house unannounced and three days early...they took both incubators outside and placed them upside-down in the snow! I lost several clutches of sambava, nosy-be and veiled. No compensation. I feel for ya!

I would give him a bill for the cost and upkeep. There is no way you don't receive a monetary amount for your loss if you go to court. All you have to do is put it on a personnel level with the judge and about her pets whether its a cat/dog/or any other animal.

I feel bad for you. All of that work and to lose them all so quickly. Doesn't matter how much experience one has, you can lose a lot of animals with one little mistake. I've heard this close to a dozen times, experiences just like yours. Please don't give up. That's all I can say. Don't give up. You have a lot of experience and that accounts for something.
