Here is a nutrition chart, try to pick the veggies with lots of calcium and not a lot of phosphorus: http://www.guinealynx.info/diet_ratio.html

That link also has other nutrition links on it. It helps a lot when you go any buy veggies and fruits.

Also, try to feed other things like hornworms, silkworms, sow bugs, phoenix worms, butter worms, wax worms, and cockroaches like dubia. All these things can be ordered online. Variety is good for them because each bug bring something new to the plate, some are high in calcium, some hydrate better, others just spice life up a little. You wouldn't want to eat grilled chicken your whole life would you?

If youre talking about the gel crystal ones, I like them.but I prefer the fresh much more. That way I can tell for 100% certainty what they are and are not getting. I know plenty of people that use store-bought products, though.

I am talking about that and there is like a powder mixture for gutloading them with also. like oatmeal and wheat and stuff like that.
are you talking about this? http://www.reptilesupply.com/product.php?products_id=1754 I use that it has calcium in it but probably not as much as I need

okay thanks. I've tried feeding him Super mealworms but he just looks at me like "what the $%^& is that thing?"

I found that if I hold the worm by the head and it starts to spin around in my hand my chameleon will more readily take it. He likes stuff that wiggles.

I have a question
309 mg -- Lambs quarters
210 mg -- Spinach, Mustard
208 mg -- Dill Weed
190 mg -- Turnip Greens
187 mg -- Dandelion Greens
145 mg -- Collards
138 mg -- Parsley
135 mg -- Kale*

is it whole Dill weed or powdered? I have the powdered version actually more like ground up leaves, it is the kroger brand. I was wondering if this would work would the crickets eat it aswell?

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! NO ONE CAUGHT THIS! tomatos are poisonous to chams! even if their feeding source, ie hornworms or crickets consume it, they can die from eating them!

done no more tomatoes thank you for letting me know. none of the crickets even went close to it or ate any of it (thank goodness)

I believe fresh would be better? I dont actually know since I didn't make that chart.

okay well some dill weed is better than none right? I'll add some into the feeding

Oh yeah, dont use spinach or broccoli either. Something about blocking calcium.

ah I see.
now I have a question about the cage. I know I need a bigger one but would it be possible to take some screens (for windows) wash them out and build a bigger cage. I think that would be cheaper than buying an 80$ one at LLLreptiles

and would a normal humidifier work for in his cage? I had a fogger but it broke and it didn't seem to get the job done very well anyway

Humidifiers work, but I prefer to just mist and use a dripper. The humidifier requires a lot of cleaning.

You can make a cage by yourself, but you have to use aluminum or pet screen, which is expensive and you will sport many battle scars from the dragon that is aluminum screen. It hurts... pretty bad. You cant use fiberglass or the crickets will chew through the screen. Plus it (probably) wont look as nice and you have to seal the wood like 5 times to make sure the wood wont rot. And you have to make sure that the screen doesn't have anything poking out or you could impale your buddy. Personally, I tried to make a cage... But for me it was just easier to buy one. I am young though, so it was a large task with school and what not.

how can I tell what screen is what? I already know of some framed screen to use taht is already made I just need to put it together and get permission to use it

Aluminum is wire, fiberglass is like the window screen that is kind of plastic-y, and pet mesh is heavy duty plastic stuff I believe. Or pet mesh may be pvc coated wire... I can't remember, but its strong enough to keep dogs from running through it. Its actually best to use a large hardware cloth, like 1/4" because it ccan't rip out the chameleons toenails if they climb on it. Or some kind of plastic chicken wire like stuff over the screen so they dont have that toenail issue.

I've seen those it looks like it would work better.
the crickets chew through the fiberglass ???

Yeah, I use fiberglass screen to make a lot of feeding cups and what not so that water can drain, and they chew through it like its nothing!

I need some more opinions. I think his cage isn't humid enough.

what are other peoples opinions on this matter?
EX not enough calcium etc

If you dont feel its humid enough, make it more humid and see if things improve. If they do, then it wasnt humid enough.

ok thanks for all the advice and help.
his basking spot isn't really set up too well I need to put it in a better positioncause he doesn't like to sit under it
also is it a good or bad thing when my feeder crickets are kind of mushy?
