47 Parsons eggs!!!!

I don't need a parsons, I will just be thrilled to have you have viable baby parsons. You go, someone has to do it. We are all hoping for babies!!!

Do you add water directly on the eggs in spring and summer?

Yes, I'm dripping water on the eggs in spring and summer. So the egg shell is not too dry to open it by the baby after 1,5 years. In addition the eggs are growing better in the first year.
This is a bit dangerous. When it is too wet some eggs can burst. But this depends also from the individual consistence of the shell.
So I have to observe the shells before I drip water on them.

Most of your eggs are looking very good. I wish you luck for the incubation.

Glad to see a few in the US to have success with eggs being laid. Now the hard part, the wait!

dang, i’ve had a clutch of carpet eggs with embryos that hit the one year mark 4 days ago. since an enormous, expensive Parson clutch takes even longer than that, wouldn’t it be fair for lateralis to just have a 3-4 month incubation?? they’re a short-lived species to begin with! half to a third of their lives are being wasted in their little geodesic homes!! :p

Steve you could have little parsons coming out of your ears!! What a great thing that would be. I can just see you with 80 parsons, you will need to hire help.:) If all my quads are grown I can offer to come babysit.:D:D:D:D

But really all the luck in the world to you.

That's fantastic news Steve! How's your female?

She is a little rough around the edges but par for the course.
She did a great job at laying her eggs, she started digging for the first time yesterday morning. She laid them in the same spot as she did last year.

only 15 were fertile from that clutch, they will be 12 months this week. She was in very good shape after laying last year and she bred in August.

That's good you got some out of the first clutch. You're getting closer to hatch day. How long after she laid the first time did the eggs go bad?

aww! congrats to you I hope they all hatch alive and healthy because baby reptiles are just so adorable! contact me if u need feeders to keep all those little guys happy!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I could tell the fertile ones from the nonfertile from day one by the color. The nonfertile ones molded after a week.

I noticed this too when I dug mine up, the fertile ones were white and dry, the infertile ones were an off yellow color and wet\sticky. They dented and went bad after a few weeks.

14 months and still cooking.
