48" light fixture

As long as it is made for that diameter bulb. If ita double and you only run one bulb I have heard it will burn the bulb out faster.

its double? Awesome going to tell my husband about it! Need something for my 5.0 and plant grow light.

It is a double! Can you put a reptisun and a grow light at the same time? I didn't know if this would be too much exposure. I was wondering what to do with a 2nd bulb...

It's a T8 fixture and I believe that the reptisuns are T8's...

yes as long as you just tun t8 bulbs you will be ok, and 1 5.o and a 65k plant light is fine, these dont put off alot of heat if any really and the plant gro light brings in the color needed for the live plants.

Sweetness! So this will pretty much double the illumination for better overall visibility, yes? :)

Here is another question? The enclosure is 31" deep. I was thinking of putting the fixture more towards the middle. I'll have the raindome on one end of the 50" width and the heat lamp on the other end. Where would most people place the uv set-up? Back, middle or towards the front?

is that 65k or 6500k? thanks!

I've been using those fixtures for a couple of years now and they work fine but they are only $10 so they definitely go out. Keep the box and exchange them when they do cause some don't work for very long.

For $10 I guess we can't ask for much! ;) How long have yours typically lasted? A month or two? Longer (I hope)? Thanks!

sorry yeah you want at least 5000k a 6500k kelvin rating is best. The plant and aquarium lights from lowes etc are only like 3000k actually. so check the kelvin rating before you buy.

you'll be fine using that. i'm using a 48 inch light fixture i bought at home depot on my nursery for my newly hatched chams. it was twice what you paid :mad::mad: i've got a reptisun and a 6500k light in mine. fits perfectly in my 48 inch shelves system i bought for the nursery. nice cage too!
