5.0 UVB lifespan?

Hello all,
I replace my 5.0 UVB lights every 6 months and was wondering if i am replacing them a little to early? I have heard that some people replace their 5.0 reptisuns (the kind i have) every 8 or 9 months. Thank you in advance,

I replace mine every 9 months, but if you want to be extra safe, you could get a UVB meter to measure the UVB output.

Without a UV meter it's recommended to change it every 6 months. You might want to consider buying a meter from our site sponsor they are on sale.

I change mine once a year. However, my animals get around 4 to 5 months of being outside too so its really around every 7 or 8 months.
