So I have notice that whenever I use a cfl bulb my veiled cham starts squinting his eyes within a week . I started using a 6500k cfl for my plants and he started to close his eyes intermittently . So no more cfls for my cham. Does anybody has this problem?

Im no expert but i can tell you the CFL's can cause sever eye problems in reptiles, even blindness. I used them around my beardies, and iguana and the had BAD eye problems, My iggy actually got to the point she couldnt see at all. Luckly i did alot of reading on the subject, and talked to alot of reptile breeders and owners, and switched the light back to regular lightnulbs and tube lights and the eye problems stopped. I would imagine chameleons with the structure of their eye's and the strength of their vision, that it would hurt them even more. Have you ever looked at a CFL for just a few seconds, I know it starts to bother my eyes when i do, but then my wife says im strange, so could be just me.

Yeah, well I, thought the only cfls that could cause eyes problems would be the uvb cfls, or at least, thats what I read here so I decided to give the household cfls a try . But after this I decided no cfls period .

Lol am not talkin about the uvb bulb josh . I, use linear reptisun 5.0 . Am talkin about the regular 6500k household CFLS for the plants
