A little color please!

Does anyone know how long it takes for male Panthers start to show any color? I bought a 3 month old male blue bar Ambilobe back in May. He (or she) is now six months old and not showing any signs of color. Am I being impatient, or should I be seeing something by now?

Post some pictures. My sambava didn't show colors til 7-8 months, but sambavas tend to take longer to color up.

I have the same query with a 5 month old Diego Suarez. I was led to believe that it was male but I'm not 100% convinced at the moment.

The only colur so far is a little green in face.

I'd be interested to see some pictures so see some comparisons as they sound about the same age.

Thanks for all the replies! Here are a few pics of my 6 month old Ambilobe. What do you think; boy or girl?

Is it me or do I see no sign of a male package? You have a female, unless my eyes are screwed. I've never heard of a 6 month old with no color either.

Some males turn out to be duds (very pale colors with very little painted looking colorations), some don't color up until they're 8-10 months old. Some are outstanding at the young age of 7 months... All depends on how lucky you got, and if you paid a lot of money for a future screaming breeder...etc...etc.

I can't really tell with those pictures - can you get a picture of the base of the tail, please?

Also, is anyone else seeing that green under the front leg (pic 2)?

O.k. here's pic of the tail. I'm thinking this is a girl.
