A Little Morning Sun

It's a beautiful day here in Cleveland (a rarity LOL), so I took Claudia out for some natural basking time. For the first time since I got her, she really seemed to enjoy herself! She wouldn't stay still on her hibiscus though, and preferred to walk around on the grass, which I happily allowed since she's never been this outgoing outdoors. Too bad the weather is going to turn sooner rather than later and we won't get to do this for much longer :(

Aww, look at her! :D

Can't wait till mine want's to come out do things outside. She's still very: "don't touch me", "just leave that treat right there and go" ;)

Thanks, all! She really seemed to love it out there today, so I plan on doing the same tomorrow morning. Nothing like that natural UVB ;)

I've also got her eating again. She just seems totally done with crickets, probably my fault for only giving her them for the last two months. Now I just have to figure out what to do with these 500 crickets I went and bought two weeks ago haha.

How old is your cham?? I have a juvenile vieled that I'm guessing is about 4-5 months old. I love to take her outside but am deathly afraid of her getting picked up by a bird or something bad happening since she's still little!! At what age/size do you guys recommend a cham getting some outside, enclosure free supervised time?

I have a panther that LOVES to go outside as well, I put him on an umbrella plant and he looks so dang happy! I did notice that he saw a plane fly over one time, though. It was high enough up that you couldn't hear it and looked roughly the size of a bird flying close above head. My guy was watching it like his life depended on it (from his perspective, I'm sure he thought his life really was in danger). Anyway, I do believe they watch for predators, but with that said I watch out for him too and don't leave him alone. Red Tail hawks are very common here and he would be a tasty treat for one of those. I don't think there is a "big enough" size for them to go out, since you should keep an eye on them regardless of size. I might feel better if I had an outdoor enclosure where he would be somewhat protected, but its fresh free air currently for Merlin so I have to watch him like the hawks probably already are :) Hope that helps

Make it a great day,

The vet guesses she's anywhere between 6-8 months old. I watch her like a hawk when we do go outside, but today is the first day she's really seemed to enjoy herself, so usually we aren't on too long lol. I also have an outdoor cage set up for her that I haven't gotten to use much either but probably will now as long as the weather holds out :)

She looks adorable enjoying a sunny day! :) My cham, Apollo, loves hanging out in my balcony when it's sunny! He will stay there for hours if I let him :p
