My thinking was that its very existence is an argument supporting my suggestions & vice versa.

Persuasive paper topic by committee; it writes itself.

What about writing about line breeding (whether you are for or against it you could make a compelling and persuasive argument), and I think it would help to show the comparisons between chameleons and more "normal" pets like dogs and cats. Just a thought.
