Aspen, the lab and Picasso are really good friends,...... the truth is that Aspen can not stop watching the cham and tries to stick his head into the enclosure very time we open it.....strange, but Picasso does not seem to mind at all!

One time my dog started smelling one of my oustelets and my cham just walked right onto my dogs nose! I pulled him off before wehad any problems, but its nice to have harmony in the house!

That is too cute!! I have a doberman and he isnt allowed near the cham (or in the cham's room)... my pug can go in the same room but she is too short to reach the enclosure. lol

Are you using a glass terrarium for your cham?? He is a beautiful veiled!

Yes it is......2x2x3 and with a screen top and vented bottom, he is only 4 months old and we do have a 2x2x4 screen enclosure ordered.....we were told that as long as he is small this would do until we could get the screen enclosure, we do keep the door open most all day and he free ranges from morning until night, he will sleep in there and eat and a lot of the times he will go back inside on his own to get under his basking lamp, if he doesn't decide to use the one hanging above the Anole's enclosure.

Zoey does that! Kuzco gives her the scaly eye ball but I keep them separate bc she is impulsive and loves to wrestle lol

It isn't really the terrarium that bothers me, it looks like your using indoor outdoor carpet in there? Glass enclosure with carpet is a disaster waiting to happen, I know from experience! I am not trying to be negative, I only want you to have a positive experience. He is a gorgeous veiled!

What happened using a glass enclosure and indoor/outdoor carpet? I had considered using indoor/outdoor carpet when I first got my cham, but I couldn't find any pieces small enough locally (they would only sell me huge sections rather than remnants). Is it a bacteria issue or ingestion issue, etc.? Please explain.

It isn't indoor/outdoor carpet.....it is Zoo Med Eco Reptile Terrarium carpet.

As long as it is cleaned weekly with a very mild bleach and soap solution it is completely fine to have. :)

In my experience, I lost my very first cham using carpet. I even cleaned it once a week like suggested and I still lost him to an upper respiratory infection! To each their own, I will NEVER use carpet of any kind ever again!

I will take it out tonight, don't want to take any chances with him at all!.....thanks for your input.

Hah. That's interesting how much Aspen likes him. Do you ever let them hang with each other out of the enclosure?

Gosh I wish my dogs would be that docile around my reptiles. oddly enough my German shepherd probably would be fine but my yorkie and dashunds would wrap a napkin around their neck and ring the dinner bell, I am afraid.
