Abscess

So I went away for the weekend and when I get home Suki my panther female has a little crusted blood on her cheek I look closer and it looks like a start of a little Abscess at the coner of her mouth.

I have been cleaning it with chlorohexaderm, I got the cheese out of it today.
So how have some of you treated this problem?

I was wondering why no one had responded yet....
Cleaning the puss out is def the first step. That is what the vet did with Vega's current one. Now all we are doing is treating it with the topical zymox every day for 10 days.
Previously when he had it we would clean it out with chlorahexadine twice a day. The ones that Vega has had before have been in the mouth though, around the gum line and even caused him to loose some teeth. Now though as you guys saw it is on the roof of the mouth away from the gum line. IDK if they could develop in the corner of the mouth like you describe, but I don't see why not. Does it look like a hole or little bump/blister? A pic would be great :) How does Suki seem today?

well when I squeezed the cheese out it looked like a little hole. She seems fine her vet gets back from vacation on thursday, so she has to hang in there till then, I have been doing just that cleaning it with Cholorhex.

Thanks

No problem. I would suspect that with your treatment it should start clearing up before you would even have to take her in :D
