Acclimating veiled 6 month old to new food.

Hello,

Background:
I have a veiled female chameleon that just laid her first clutch and she looks extremely thin! I had been doing dusted crickets and wax worms based on the poor advice given at the pet shop. After a recent vet visit, pre egg laying, the vet recommended varying her food sources. I specifically bought phoenix worms since they are great in terms of calcium (and the x-ray showed she needs a little more calcium than the dusted crickets were providing). She's been great with the phoenix worms (I think because she thought they were the same fatty wax worms from before.

Issue:
I bought the Cham sampler pack and it came with roaches, these really green caterpillar like things, phoenix worms and super worms. How do I get my cham to recognize the caterpillars and roaches as food? Do I need different dust to dust them with? Should I dust them like I did dust the crickets? I know the phoenix worms don't need it, but what about roaches, green horned caterpillars, super worms?

The green caterpillar things are hornworms, they get huge fast, within a few days!!!!! Most chams love them, I would just put the hornworm on the screen and let it move around. Give your cham time to observe it while it crawls around and the same for the roach. If she interested, good,. If not then try again later. Least leave them in there a few hours.

Remember the nutritional value of each dubia is about the one in 5 crickets of the same size. Depending on the size of the dubias, 10 roaches can be a hefty meal!
