Accurate Newbie Resources: Jumpstart your Understanding

Everyone starts out somewhere. It is easy to think that those of us that are active with experience didn't but we did as well. My first thread was honestly a disaster. Another member that was trying to help me got picked on by someone else. It made me feel as though I should not have posted. And I felt very bad about the other member getting picked on. In the end I was left more confused and still struggling looking for answers.

This is why we are so careful with our feedback here. We want to be helpful to the poster not harmful. Saying things in a constructive way to make someone wants more information rather than them wanting to leave. And the members working together to help the original poster.

I think it takes a lot to go from lurker to signing up to be a member. But then to make a post and put yourself out their for criticism can be very stressful.

I lurked and read everything for a month.... Then signed up for an account. It took me like a week before I posted my first thread with questions.

I lurked for a whileee, then made my account just to message you. Now I feel a little more confident. It will take me time to comment on chameleon post because I know you guys are way more experienced than me. But I will say I learned so much. With reading the academy website over & over to watching several videos over & over. & you helping me. Thank God lol. That I can speak loudly on the topic. & although I suffer from Anxiety & OCD so I second guess myself alot & ask several (should be obvious) questions. Im proud with how much knowledge I've learned. I feel like a sponge just consuming all the info. Lol I'm so excited to get another & give him a long happy life.
I'm happy that you are so patient & kind. & reading a bunch of post alot that have you in it. (Seems that you are the go to which is great.) But you never seem frustrated always kind & don't mind giving info to each & every person.

I started from the bottom and worked my way up, too. Becca was the first one to help me also. That's why she has the heart award!!!

I have no idea what heart award means lol
The Chameleon Heart Award is an acknowledgment of those individuals that have greatly contributed to the community. Some recipients have developed resources that over time will reach thousands of people and their chameleons. Some have worked very hard to maintain the forums and keep a friendly environment for both new and long term members. Others have for years improved discussions with their experience and knowledge, sacrificing their time to help chameleons and their owners. Some have done all of the above. All recipients of the Heart Award have made a significant and positive influence at Chameleon Forums. The award has evolved somewhat to include influence and contributions from the overall chameleon community. However, the focus when determining award recipients will remain heavily weighted with what happens at Chameleon Forums.
