urs looks nice did u cut those peices with a miter saw or what :p

Thanks!

I used a chop saw! Makes the work a lot LOT easier! :D

What other questions do you have?

@Meow Kitty: If you are planning to go all out, I would have to second Slik Jim on a good saw.

I personally used to use a circular saw + planar and do NOT recommend this....its awfully hard to get clean cuts and you spend a lot of time cleaning up your work afterwards.

Not familiar with a chop saw, but I ended up buying the cheapest model table saw they have at home depot (about $120) and it has made my work 100000x faster, easier, and CLEANER. Highly recommended if you do a fair amount of wood work.

**Ahh I just looked up chop saws....its basically a table saw so I guess we are recommending the same thing :)

Chop saw is essentially a mounted circular saw. Just means you can feed lengths into it and cut through very quickly! I mean to get myself a good table saw at some point for putting channels in wood!

miter saw is a chop saw im building this in wood shop so i have a table saw /chop saw/ drill press/ and a planer alll at my reaches along with other power tools

mmmmm ive been thinking what if i cut the 2x4s in half so it would be 2x1.75 or what evers and just use that so it wont be sooooo huge ive been thinking about weight and how it will be a pain

If weight is an issue, why don't you built in it 2 sections. So a top and a bottom that could than be joined together by a metal joining plate? Something like this:

That would make it easy to move and reassemble. Would also be cool as you could take the top off and use it as a mini outside enclosure if you ever wanted to!

i opened this page around a year ago, and i finished the cage from like 2 months after but the cage sat in my garage since and only now did i start finishing it.

the cage (still needs screen top and the door attached) the two sides are acrylic transparent plastic and the base is a pan made from duct sheet metal then water proofed. it looks pretty good so far and ill finally be able to use my mist king since it has proper drainage (hole in the middle of the pan) i also covered the pan with tile i cut to fit it looks a lot nicer then bare metal.
