i have had my female veiled for about 2 months. She's adjusted well, I've been able to hand feed her and handle her without problem and it's been great getting to know her little personality. My only concern now is about egg laying. I don't know her age, my guess is not very old. Although the she has grown a steady amount, she was pretty small when I got her a couple months ago. I've done so much research and read all I can about females and egg laying. In her cage I have a live plant with dirt and such in the pot, which is a good size pot. The dirt and such has rocks covering it like I read to keep her from eating the dirt or whatever. She'll climb all around her cage, walking on the floor of it, into the plant pot, and all the way up to the top. I just don't know how to be sure of when she is going to lay eggs. Her belly isn't fat like she's getting ready to, so that's my only way I can be sure she isn't going to right now. Any advice or tips are appreciated!

If you put an opaque container of washed play sand at least 12 " deep by 12 " by 8 " in her cage she will have a place to dig to show you when she needs to lay eggs once she's sexually mature. When a veiled female is sexually mature she will develop mustardy yellow splotches on her body and when receptive bright torquoisy blue dots.
