Hi again, I have a clutch of veild chameleons and one hatched already and the others are starting to follow. What I wanted to know is what is the average time after a baby slits the egg will it hatch?? I have a baby that slit its egg 4 days ago and it still hasn't come out. Should I be concerned at all?

Also how long does it take for them to hatch after the egg has started sweating???

Thanks for the replies in advance :),

I was worried about the same thing too when my first clutch of panther eggs were doing the same thing. It took 3 days for the first to come out. I was advised they can stay in there for a while (panthers). They sit in the egg obsorbing the yolk sac. I heard veileds usually dont take aslong as panthers. Also I was advised not to help the little ones out. If they arent strong enough to get out of the egg more than likely they wont survive anyway.

CONGRATS!!!!

Thanks for the replies, but the little guy did not make it :(. I finally decided to help it out and he was a gonner but like the poster above me said, "if its not strong enough to get out then it was probably not going to make it anyways".
