Again, basking with mouth open?

I recently got a new cham, a male veiled. I still have him in the growing out cage. I plan on letting him settle a bit first before moving him into a bigger cage. Also waiting for that cyber monday sale at LLLreptile.com!

I know this has been asked before but I cant dig it up somehow. Anyway I have been observing that he is basking with his mouth a bit open. Is that an issue?

Thanks!

Invest in a temp gun that way there is no mistake. I always place something with some mass in the basking area and check repeatedly several times during the day to make sure it is safe before introducing a chameleon to its cage.

I actually set up my new cages for a full week or so, lights on, misting, etc... kinda like letting an aquarium cycle. I check temps at random times, look for flaws, etc... overkill, but I like to be prepared.
