Age and sex Ambilobe panther

I bought a Ambilobe Panther Chameleon from a breeder and they claim "it's definitely male" and that he hatched on 11/4/14. I just want to know if what I paid for is what they claim him to be. He weighs 7 grams to give an idea of his size. Also as a side note, he does this hiccup thing every now and then (it's like a click noise) and keeps realigning his jaw, should I be concerned? Thanks!

Hey, congrats on your new panther. You have a male for sure and I would assume the DOH is correct. He might be a little smaller for his age but I'm sure he will spring up in weight and size soon.

As for the jaw. Keep an eye on that, maybe he hurt it while eating or got something hand in his mouth that is causing a problem. I can't say for sure what it is though.

Looks like you have a male to me. He very well could be ~ 3 months old. It's hard for anyone to tell you his age based on size because not every panther gets the proper nutrition or even grows at the same rates. If he is 3 months, he would be on the smaller side.

I've seen some insanely small babies for their age out there.

As for the clicking, is it constant? Do you see anything coming out of the nose? Could be a sign of a respiratory infection.

I haven't noticed him do it at all today, but he hasn't eaten since he has arrived that i know of. I have been spraying his cage and he really likes the water. I have noticed he has white stuff in his nose now. He seems really active but I'm a little worried since i haven't been able to get him to eat. Thank you guys for your input.

Well good news! Today we got him to eat a dubia roach and I watched him eat a cricket. He seems to be doing a lot better plus he gained 2g+ in the two days he has been here.
