age certain of male or female panther?

Hello everyone,

I am new to the panther ownership and wondering about how old a 2" body (not including tail) would be? I was hoping for a colorful boy in the future but not sure when or at what age I would know for sure if the green hints I see at times would be showing of a male. At times I think I see a bump of a male then I look again and I dont....... ??? .....or I think I see all over blue gray....then its brown........... so I guess I'm asking...At what age would one be certain of male or female?

Im right there with you, my nosy be is about 2 months and its body is about 2" somedays i can see a bump and then somedays nothing haha, somedays hes greyish while others hes brown, i think colour starts coming in around 3-4 months though so if colour starts to come in then you know you have a boy

If you post a photo where we can see the base of the tail in profile clearly, we could probably help you identify him/her. Did you get him from a breeder?

I do not usually buy from a pet shop but this little guy I did because I know and like the ownwers....

Its a female. Cant be certain about age but around 3 or 4 months I would guess.

I'm glad you weren't lied to. Tons of people now a days sell panthers saying they're older than they really are to make you think they're are hold backs.

And I have people tell me the opposite lately. "No way is that a five month old." "He's got to much color." Ohhhh! Now it's beginning to make sense to me.

Girls can be very pretty, but in a much more pastel tone. She'll probably be shades of pink and peach.

Females have plenty of colour Pink, Peach, Orange, Black, Brown, Beige....sometimes with spots of blue, purple and green.
typically they're also more active then males

Yes, in the same house.




but not in the same cage, they are territorial animals.
