Is there a way to tell the age of your chameleon? I recently took over my friends panther chameleon, he had told me he thought was a little over a year but wasn't sure , (he was moving and unable to take him.) His temperament is very clam and relaxed always likes to be held , and he NEVER gets fired up. Compared to my other panthers he's a little smaller, I'm just wondering if it's because he is older and is more tame/ laid back . He also seems to stay the same colors, even when he is sleeping, very rarely will he get lighter/darker, or change at all. I've had him about 6 months now, And he doesn't seems to eat as much as my other guys. If you have any suggestions/ thoughts let me know, I'm thinking that he might be older then I think, just curious, thanks!

It is impossible to know his actual age, however the fact that he is eating less that the others may suggest that he is older than them. That being said, it could be that he is 18 months or he could be 4 years. There is really no way of knowing. As for the colors, I am not very knowledgeable about Nose Be panthers, but I do not believe they change colors to the extent that others, like Ambilobes, do (I could be wrong about this, hopefully someone else will chime in on it).

No matter his age, he is absolutely beautiful! I love his blue!

What a handsome little boy!

Please post more pictures especially of his legs.

I think he could be around 10 to 16 months old.

I really like that blue. If It were me, I would be completely satisfied if he stayed that color all the time.

Yeah I spotted that too.
It looks like he can have a very mild case of MBD.
But it could also just be the camera angle.

We have some Nosy Be's and Nosy Faly's that are so chill they never fire up, pretty much stay the same color all the time. I would say he is just shy of a year old, still looks fairly small, but I agree with the above, post some pictures of him walking, showing his legs, it may just be the picture but he looks like he might be a little weak and unable to support himself from the photo.

I am completely satisfied with his colors, don't get my wrong I love them!!!, I was just curious about his age. And yes he does have MBD, that I have been treating, he looks so much better then what it was before I got him. And here's another picture hope this helps.

He's beautiful! My guys that are chill are my favs, you walk up to the enclosure and they cone running to get out, it's crazy. I don't think I could get them to fire up for anything, not even around the ladies.

Good catch Jann! I thought the arm looked a little off too.

You should have a vet check it to see if his calcium is still off or it was the result of a previous bout of MBD.
