So Pasquale was doing great coming out of his habitat. He didn't race over to our hands when we went in to get him but he allowed us to pick him up and bring him out. But the last few times he has puffed up his chin and striked us like he is gonna bite and hisses loud. Not sure if he's just having a bad day but I'm taking it personal

Chameleons are very moody creatures don't take offense to it at all. If they don't want to come out I wouldn't force them out unless cleaning or tcob.

He's starting to feel territorial over his new home. You are now considered an intruder (ie: an environmental nuisance)

My Cham was about 3 months old when I got her and always let us hold her. I used to just put a finger under her chin and she would walk right onto my hand then at about 7 or 8 months old she became evil and at the sight of a hand in her cage she puffs up and opens mouth she have never bitten but does not want to be touched. She did also have a traumatic vet visit at that age as well. Anyway I hear this is common babies and young adults are more tolerant but from teen and up they get more territorial and aggressive about their space and being disturbed. I miss my baby.:(

Ahhhh I was hoping he'd get use to the hand and eventually willingly come out. Wishful thinking He is a lot more active though he use to just sit on the top of the cage and walk the same route to get to the food cup. But over the last week he is up and down. Crawling all along the cage he even went to the bottom today to explore so I think your right he is becoming more comfortable with his surroundings so he's more territorial.

I have a one cham that straight up hates me, and will try to bite me every time i do something as innocent as you know, feed him. Cleaning is a nighmare. I have to deal with him hiding in the top corner trying to kill me while I do my business as fast as possible hoping he doesn't hurt his nails.

And then i have another boy who will ignore his food to book it up my arm for a few minutes, eagerly tolerates all handling even from strangers to him (I won't say love because I don't believe any cham truly loves it).

Every cham is different and sometimes crabbiness is just the nature of the species :) They are often a "Look but don't touch" pet :)

Yup, my cham seems to be the same age as yours, He's doing the same thing. He has started to puff up and hiss at me whenever I try to bring him out, or do something in the cage. I think he's becoming a teenager... Moody guy :p. Especially today, must be the age.

Sometime u can look but u can't touch, other time u can easily have them walk on top of ur palm, every chams are different just like everyone of us , I raise mine with lots of patience n hand feeding encouragement, luckily they don't see me as a threat like a predator, this also cost me lots quality time along with them:)
