Am I doing everything ok?

I have a Veiled Chameleon but Im not sure how old he is... I got him from Petsmart and his name is Victor. I'm new to Chameleons but I'm pretty experienced with pets.

Cage Size - Its a Zoo Med ReptiBreeze Open Air Screen Cage, 8 x 18 x 36-Inches.

Lighting - I have a Basking/UVA bulb and a UVB bulb on one of those two in one lamp things.

Humidity - I mist the cage a few times a day and I bought a fogger that didn't work.

Live Plants - Ive got a pretty good lookin Yucca plant.

Food - I feed him a few crickets and super worms a day.

Water - I mist the cage, I have a homemade dripper that kinda works, and one of those waterfalls.

Handling - I try not to at all yet cause he's pretty new but like Ive had to move him a few times and he dosnt seem scared at all.

I'm just afraid Im doing something wrong and I really don't wanna... I love him...

1. Remove the waterfall. Harbors bacteria and chams will most likely drown in it or use it as a toilet.
2. Aren't yucca plants a bit sharp? I would imagine no good coming from a yucca plant. Try getting a tree like plant or vine like plant like pothos, umbrella plant, or ficus benjamina.
3. dust your crickets daily with NO d3 calcium and twice a month with d3 calcium.

You should be good otherwise

Could you post a picture? That would help to see how young he is and if he's hydrated.

The cage is perfect. That's the cage I have for my chameleon (panther). If you could post a picture of that too it would be nice to see what it looks like with all the plants in it.

Regarding humidity, do you have a thermometer? If not you should get one just so you can keep track of how humid it is and make sure it's at a good percent as well as temperature.

Depending how how young he is will determine how many crickets to feed him. If he's young you can feed him 10 small crickets everyday, and sometimes more. They're growing after all! Be sure to gutload your crickets too!

If you post pictures it would make it easier! :)

You can actually feed them as many as they can eat in around 3-4 minutes. So around 15-20 for some young ones.

Also HYGROMETER for humidity THERMOMETER for heat.

Get digital ones. Dials = inaccurate

Oh ok thanks, I was lookin at some at Petsmart the other day actually.

He looks cute! I would make sure to mist whenever possible. I try to shoot for 3-4 times a day or whenever I'm near him. Just to make sure it's humid and he's hydrated. As SaintJimmy said the waterfall is a definite no. Your cam won't drink from it and it's not healthy. They'll only drink from drops off the leaves or dripping.

Also, sorry for the mix up with the hygrometer and thermometer. Mine came together so I didn't really think about it. But that would be very useful! I have a dial one in my cage and it seems to work very well. We also have a digital one outside of the cage.

I would try to get another plant too. We have two pothos plants and an umbrella plant. I would also get some branches or vines so he can climb all around.

Going back to feeding, we have a cricket cup which works very well. This is how we made ours http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_od47TlbXA. It's great because you can keep track of what he's eating. If the crickets are loose they can hide and end up ganging up on your chameleon and eat him.

One more thing to make sure he's doing great is to look at poop 101 under health clinic. That will let you know a lot about you chameleon!

Hope all this helps!
