I had a fun day last Thursday when I received a new wc female, supposedly from Ambanja, and also got a clutch of 32 great bloodline Ambanja-type eggs from Sidney and Nancy.
First, this female I actually purchased sight unseen. She was a fresh import and is rather thin but eats great. She was even taking crickets from my hands just a minute or so after I unpacked her and put her in the cage. What is exceptional is how much purple she has. The entire top of her head is purple, as are much of the cheeks and neck. I'm still trying to get a pic that shows the purple better than these, but the going is rough with my camera. She also had a very unusual pattern for the first couple of days that I've not really seen before. She's been looking a more typical gravid gal lately, so I'm thinking it might have just been stress mixed with gravid colors. Still trying to think of a name for her.
And here are Sid and Nancy. Sid is wildcaught also, and Nancy is the daughter of FLChams' purple-barred Brantley. Mmmmm, 'Banja goodness!
