Postpartum depression

Hi there!

So my girl is now all right I think. Whole laying took her 1-2 days. I must say it was just me being overstressed with her first laying. My girl did a good job and now seems to be okay. She is eating and drinking normally. Thx for all of your tips.

About the eggs I digged, there was 56 eggs (I think that was a lot? ). I have read some tips how to reduce the quantity in the future. I will do the best I can to reduce the number so my girl can be less congested. I am attaching some photos of the eggs.

Thanks everyone :)

Yes 56 is a large amount. Tell her good job for me! I bet she is tired. Feed her well for a couple days and make sure she get enough water. Definitely make sure you read up on the blog @MissSkittles Posted. I’m glad she made it through!

Wow! That is a lot of eggs! Feed and hydrate her well for a couple of days. Silkworms and hornworms are wonderful to help her hydrate and rebuild her strength. Then you’ll want to reduce her feeding to 3-4 feeders, 3 days a week and keep her basking temps no higher than 80F. This will help reduce not only the number of eggs that she produces, but the frequency too and possibly can even stop her egg production altogether. From the OG who I believe is who figured it out http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/2007/12/keeping-female-veiled.html and my blog https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/veiled-chameleon-laying-101.2488/

56 eggs!!! She needs to take a bow. Dont worry, everyone is a stressed out mess with the first clutch! If you werent, I would be worried about You! Lol. You did great and she did too! Yes read MissSkittles blogs. She is a pro with the lady chams and has been very successful reducing egg production!! If you live in Calif and ever decide to mare her, I have a male veiled thats a horny little devil. 🤗
