Angry Po

My guyis almost 11 months,l and he has only hand fed twice from me.
However, I found that he has gotten over the fact of me cup feeding him,
I would hold the cup and he would run away.
he did this for like 4 days (hadnt eaten at all) and he eventually was so hungry he gave up and came and ate out of the cup i was holding.
I've found that after free ranging him, hes much more tolerable. But he still has his moody days when he gapes and hisses.
Just give her some time. and keep trying.
I would suggest getting a solo cup (like a beer pong cup) putting your bugs in it. and holding it in front of her face. if she eats great. if not, put the bugs back in the keeper, and try the next day.
she can go a few days without bugs until she learsn taht the cup feeds her, and mom's going to be holding it.

well she's a new cham, you need to show her who's boss around here, not physically but show her you mean her no harm and that your her new "mommy"

initially I felt bad at the idea of starving her until she's forced to eat from the cup.. but it's a great idea training wise. I'll definitely give it a go! thanks guys that was probably the best piece of information I've received.

Thats what I did with Kink. worked great.
I felt bad too with 'starving' him, but i knew he wasnt going to die if he went 2-4 days without food. now, he chooses to go that long without food himself! lol

wow 4 days?! I get worried if Po doesn't finish all her wormys in a day, maybe its because I'm used to her having such a veracious appetite.

Yea, Kink is not a voracious eater. hell eventually eat like 5-8 crickets, but only when he feels like it.

I just had Po out and tried cup feeding her while she was on my hand after only giving her a worm today and she ate up 2 of the wormys real quick. So the method worked well on my Po!

My guy only will eat if it has to do with me. Whenever others are around he won't eat, and will only eat if its in my hand or in a cup. I guess I got the more friendly cham out of the clutch :p.

hahahah Po is just less angry but still.. pretty angry. okay holy shmoley these giant crickets keep escaping and they're so loud. I can't find one that has been chirping loudly all night.

gonna go crazy.

Oh andd that's pretty cool that your cham loves you, mine hates life 95% of the time.

Hey, you breed crickets or something ?? Well give Po some time, she will come around! She loves you, whether she realizes it yet or not. Besides, hating life 95% of the time is better than 100%! :D

Idk if Kiwi loves me just yet, but I'm just glad she doesn't perceive me as a threat. Baby steps!

Try free ranging. Kink got alot better after i started doing this.

I have been free ranging Spyro for about an hr long every day. I put him on a big plant that he loves while I watch TV or play my PS3(don't worry, I am constantly checking on him) The problem is, he loves it so much that he will actually will not want to go back on my hand so I can put him in his cage. The good news is that when 5-6 months passes, I am letting him free range in only one plant. Is it OK for him to just be in one BIG plant? Or will 2 be better? The problem is that when I free range him, if I do use my other big plant I will have to spend another 40-60$ on UVB and UVA for the other plant since I would just be using the lights and lamps I used to have from the cage on my first plant. Also, why is it that when he is inside the cage he is usually a bit darker colors, and when I take him outside(outside of the cage, not outside the house) he explodes with blue aquamarine, green, and yellow! He gets his best colors when he is out of his cage, even in my hand! I can't wait to free range him so he will always be those pretty colors :). I haven't figured out how I am going to keep the humidity up in one big plant!

I personally think one plant is fine it just depends on how much you want to spoil your cham. I don't even have a free ranging plant I just let my Po run loose in my room and explore (while I keep an eye on her)

haha oh and the cricket problem was solved earlier this morning, Po dominated the annoying thing. Apparently it wasn't loose it was just hiding very well.
