Annie & long distance vet care

Since I have unreptile vets, Jann's vet Dr Alfonso is helping by long distance. We have talked on the phone at length (those who know me know I can talk). I emailed the xrays that were taken here to him. The vet here thought Annie was not carring eggs and had something wrong with her lungs. The vet had taken the xray from the top looking down. Dr Alfonso changed the contrast and studied the xray. Annie has nothing wrong with her lungs, he counted at least 20 eggs, and she may have liver issues, that will take blood work to determind, MBD is also a possibility. The vet here in Havre won't do blood work but I may have found one in Great Falls, only 2 hours away, very driveable, who can do it. She is in and out of her laying bin. Since she has had both back legs broken, Dr Alfonso had me put her is very soft laying media, as she can't dig in anything heavy. For now she is holding her own, moving pretty well and starting to act like a veiled. Yeah!!

I know we spoke already about this, but I don't think she is egg bound.
she is just acting like a normal lady and is going to wait untill she is good and ready...in other words, drive us nuts while we wait!

btw, just what is this soft laying media you have ready for her?

I am so glad that Annie doing OK and you were able to find a vet that is able to help. It must be awful to go and see a vet and realise that you actually know more about chameleons than they do. Maybe she just isn't ready to lay those eggs yet and just wants to stress you out for a little bit longer, lol!

I am thinking with the vet bills I am racking up she should have the best possible chance and that is what I want for her. When she crawls on my hand, and knows I am going to give her the dreaded water, my heart just goes out to her.

Bless you, Laurie! You really are Annie's Guardian Angel! She sounds like such a lovely chameleon. Why on earth did you get 'Sucker' tattooed on your forehead?!LOL! I have the same one, but mine is hidden, lol! I would do exactly the same as you. When my first l'il suggie was sick, it cost me almost £400 for all his treatment. To me it was worth EVERY penny! Love to you and Annie. Tiff x

hmmm, I looked all over, but I can't find a tatoo with the words "SUCKER" on it...but then again, I was in the ARMY and I'll bet the guys took me in my drunken days and got me one where I can't look.

first, my sister still didn't call me back yet.
just think, she will be moving into my home (a 1 bedroom apartment) this saturday because she couldn't get her lease renewed...AGAIN.
so she will be with me for a month or two until she finds a new place.
yet god help me if I need her like I did last night....sucker.

so now I wake up this morning and deal with my bank that should have cleared my paypal account on the 8th.
$1800.00 will still be "pending" and not available for another week regardless that they got the money already, due to possable fraud cases that they have been dealing with others...new policy = I'm a sucker once more.

now my bills will be late and I'll get late charges on everything = mad as hell sucker.

sorry to bitch on your post Laurie, but I'll get you your free mini supers for smidge ASAP, even if I have to walk to MT to get them to you.
(I also have a few ultra small silkies I'm tossing in incase you need them for her too)
you will be taken care of for the other favor by this weekend when my sister moves in, or she calls me first.
