Another Jackson's Chameleon! Our 2nd!!

We have him setup the same way our other female jackson's is. His name is Chamelot! One question i have is the top of his head is almost black. Any reason why? Could he have a burn?

I think that is natual pigment for him, I have seen that before.
Not a burn. Burns are not black like that.

Did u get him local pet store?

Yes we did, at our local petsmart they take better care of them than the local scales & tails and other shops. We fell in love with him. When he gets mad his tail looks like a candy cane with a dark green and light green all the way around his tail. How old do you think he is?

My jacksons got his head black like that the day i was messing with his basking spot. when he gets to warm he gets real dark. but thats just my dude.

Cage looks epic, at a guess i would say he is 6months (maybe a touch more). Difficult to see re the black spot/patch. Otherwise looks fine, starting to shed?

i agree, not a burn, imo, stress coloration, likely a warning flag of a metabolic issue. imo, probably be prudent to submit an entire help form in the health clinic. jmo
ps does this animal get outside daylight and if so, is his supp regimen adj accordingly?, just a thought.

is this color displayed most of the time, or does it seem to be related to something, like feeding, misting or being disturbed?
some dark coloration on occasion is normal, especially when disturbed or exposed to outdoor uvb for the first time in a while, but if it is displayed fairly constantly in an indoor setting, then i would be a little more concerned.

ps can he see the female or her cage?, if so that could likely have something to do with it.
it can be really hard to guess age even in person, but if i had to take a wild guess, i would say 8-12 mths. jmo

Okay, i just got him so i am adjusting his supplement schedule to how i have the females, I am doing pure calcium almost every day, calcium with d3 on the 15th and last day of every month. And a multivitamin once a month.

He cannot see her cage, nor can she see his. On that spot on his head it is always that black color. Never changes even when sleeping.

That shed is from him shedding in the store. He is getting rid of the left over spots since i have upped his humidity.

He has not been outside in the sun as i am letting him adjust to his cage a bit more.
I will get a bigger picture of his cage tonight.

Also, he seems to like to stay in one spot under his uvb light and not move to the basking spot. The basking spot is between 78 and 80 throughout the day, i am not sure but i don't believe males need a hotter basking spot than females, and that is what the females is at.
