Well I can't correct you! but my question is why create a mix? Like dogs people don't pay top dollars for "mutts" still a good pet!, but a lot cheaper than a pure bread right?! What do I know I'm new to this!

Hopefully I get lucky like you! with kids its just more enjoyable if they can actually see it up close, but if it chooses to be aggressive! it will be just like the fish! seen but not touched! the 2 yr old doesn't get it! he's tried to grab fish! that why theres' a good latch on the cage!

The car ride would definately be a shorter time than delivery! car ride it is! with a thin clothe on it to breathe!

It sounds like you're ready!!! Good luck :):):):):):)

Transbald/translucent veileds are just veileds with a genetic pigment mutation. They aren't 'mutts' they are just veileds with a mutation. They are not cross bred like dogs (as a veiled is just a veiled.)

The translucent is a mutation that causes no color pigment in the skin.
Some are barely noticable but they are more expensive because they have the "gene".
Most will only have it on their feet.

I drove both mine home, about an hour, with no problems. Like previosly stated they will stress either way, I would rather have him in the car where you can control temperature though.

Thank you Pssh and you too Goggles!
Maybe I will consider a trans
I got quite a bit of money into this and I don't want to end up in disappointment specially for my daughter! I got the branches baking outside in 40c/104f weather right now it should kill all parasites! right! going to wash down my plants with soapy water! so I can start the setup! I using tap pins and paper clips to hold branches! going to buy a medium size rubbermaid for the crickets and got a small one for inside the cage! according to youtube many people do!? it eats as much as it wants?? right?

I got a panther as my first chameleon and he's been a dream :D
There are not many differences between the 2 anyway!

Good luck though.
They are so awesome lol

Thanks, the only difference is the price! Is this newbie willing to take that chance!

Thats cool! is the white perminante or does it change colours
But like you said its`still a veild

It's more clear"lack of pigment" than white. And yes it stays that way.

There might not be much of a price difference between a trans and panther.
A regular veiled and panther yes.
I have both and the Panther is definately more tolerable of people than the veiled.
Good luck with whatever you choose and keep us posted.

You guys have been great at educating me! As soon as I complete it I`ll put up pics!! for sure!

The less worried newbie Dad lol

by the way if at all possible try making a
free-range for your cham so it can get time out of the cage

Chams tend to be nicer when they are out of their
cage

but great care must be taken so that
they dont run away or get into trouble

Will look into doing something, but I'll have to talk about it with the family dog. I don't want my cham turning into a chew toy!!

I'm going to try to get mine to be used to be handled! My daughter understands that its not hamster! that we put it on us, and let it do what it wants! no quick movements and that its fragile! My daughter told me that she would care for it, but i have learned that lasts about 2 weeks so taking care of it will become part of the routine with all other animals hopefully not to challenging for me! thanks for the stress insight signs!

HAHAHA I can't lie I'm just as excited as her! but if you read the above it's for her! but I get to feed it, and clean its poop! just like it was for the dog and the fish!! she is only seven!

I am thrilled that every thing has worked out so well but i have to say I would not free range that chameleon with a dog in the house. The dog would not mean to hurt the chameleon. But just being a dog and playing or chewing could very easily kill your chameleon. A lot of people have chameleons that are seldom out of the cage. jmo
