Ant bite

Hi,

My jackson chameleon was bitten by an ant, one of his legs has turned dark in color and I was wondering should I be worried and if there was anything I could do??

Are you sure it was an ant and not a spider? Was the leg that turned dark the one that was bit? Upload a picture ASAP.

One of my Jackson's also got attacked by ants. Her eyes and neck really swelled up. She's better now but still has the black area where they were biting her. Yes I actually saw them on her in that spot. I noticed one of my males also looks like he may of also been bit. I have been on a major ant eradication program. I seem to have got rid of the for now.

What is it with ants and chameleons? I never had ants until I got chameleons. How did you get rid of them?

The things you provide for your chameleon are things ants want. Food, water, warmth. I've had them climb the power cord for the lights to get to the cage.

I tracked back to where they were coming into the room and sprayed insecticide there. I then wiped off all the ants I could. When they'll climb onto an electrical outlet to get to a power cord, it's hard to isolate the cage.

Well, I've had ball pythons, pacman frogs, tree frogs, geckos and toads but I've never had ants like I do now :/ It's odd.

Thanks for the advice :)
