Yep as karma said, they don't blend xD be cool if they did. They change colour on their moods, mating and heat.
any reason why my graceful chameleon keeps laying in the dirt?

i have pictures of her blending i had my room warm and i put her on my brown pillow and poof she went brown so dont say they dont blend shes not colorful blending but she does blend

She was probably stressed, generally dark colors mean stress. I've yet to meet a Cham who can blend LMAO

That's not proof. They don't change color to their surroundings, only for stress, to absorb heat, and mating.

Why not? Yes chameleons express their mood through outward displays but you don't think they mimic the plants they are commonly found on? A deremensis will turn their backs to you and they exactly like a leaf. Is that not blending?

Anyways, I'll agree with everyone else and say that they dont blend. Also, if your friend knew this mucha about chameleons I'm sure he wouldn't of let you pick up such a small cage and that he would of told you the basics about chameleons. I'm not trying to sound me just stating the obvious.

But I think and my opinion thats it's a misconception about blending. On the UK there was a mr bean animated serious and one episode had a Cham blending and everyone thought my panther did that >.< lol

but the do change for protection does it really matter what we call it a chameleon with blend with there natural enviroment am i right i do no that if u put a chameleon on something with polka dots or neon colors he will stay the same im not that stupid

They do NOT purposefully blend with their environment, they're naturally green, they won't turnbrown when on brown that is for mood, temp, and mating.
