Any suggestions on good breeders to buy from?

Hi guys,

im new to chameleons and have been searching for a good breeder of veilds. ive found a couple nice ones on screameleons and FL chams but just wanted to see if any of you have good suggestions on where to buy from.

also i wanted to know if i would be ok without a UVB light if my chameleon was housed infront of a bright sunny window. it is the perfect place in my house for a chameleon cage. is it even a good idea to put him in front of a window? should i get a UVB anyways just to be safe and ensure my little guy doesnt get MBD? please share your thoughts, they are well appreciated.

Welcome! You've come to the right place to gain knowledge on your cham adventure!

1) Check out our list of sponsors in the upper right hand corner
2) The window will block out the UV, so you'll still need a light. Even certain screens can block out MOST UV. Be sure to watch the temps if sitting next to a window (think magnifying glass on a bug)...

almost all of the sponsors have the actual baby for sell and at least a pic of the sire...

Edit*** Also check out the classified section in the forums. There are usually tons of babies available!

I bought my Nosy Be panther at 3 months old from FLchams at around 10am on 02/15/2012 and he was shipped the same day. I had a great experience working with them, but If you can, pay for Fedex shipping, not UPS. I was told it would arrive around 10am 02/16/2012 and after waiting from 9am - 6pm in my car I decided to leave a note with instructions telling them how to get to my apartment door and they ignored it and left me a notice around 8pm that night saying they would try again tomorrow.

I was so mad. They kept my chameleon over night in his box, and when I called and asked why they said that they put my package on the wrong plane, hence why it took all day for him to arrive and there was nothing I could do except go to sleep and prepare for another day of waiting in my car.

I watched 4 Fedex trucks drive past my apartment complex before he arrived at 8am the next day and I watched too many Fedex trucks to count pass my complex during the 8 hours I spent in my car the day before.

But like I said, I had a great experience with FLchams, but a horrible experience with UPS
