Any wonder reptile people get a bad rep

Ok, now this is a question, testing the waters, dont flame me too bad.

I understand leo to snapping turtle is completely unnesecary, but what about my snakes that i have to feed rabits/guine pigs too? What is everyones view on that? I also have anoles and day geckos that i have to feed to some of my monitors when they are being stubborn. I would never do something like in the video, but im just wondering what your takes are on the big snake diet

99 out of 100 snakes will except frozen/thawed humanely pre-killed prey with a little persistance and consistancy from the owner. A few will unfortunately need to be offered live prey, this is unfortunate, but an aspect of nature that needs to be respected as much as the animals in question, both predator and prey.

In general, live prey is not nessesary, and sadly, its the sick cruel types who get a kick out of it, that give most respectable herp keepers a bad reputation.
The size of the snake is neither here or there regards live food, its just not nessesary. The lack of nessesity in captivity is what makes it a cruel (and sometimes dangerous) practice, though in nature it is natural.

Incidently, its more likely that something is lacking with your monitors enviroment, rather than them being 'stubborn'. I never had a healthy monitor that refused to feed. :)

out of all my snakes i only have one ball python that will not eat F/T, he is slowely getting there, and will take f/t once every 5 times or so, but when he wont accept the appropriate size pre killed i he only gets rat fuzzies because he isnt the greatest striker and i do not want him getting chewed on/killed by a rat.

the water monitor that i am feeding the geckos/anoles too is probably going to die. I rescued him off of craigslist for a whole $20. He was 6 months old and still about 12". Ive had him for about 2 months, maybe a little less and he is currently up to 16" but just not putting on weight and has never acted like a monitor should. He wont eat crickets, supers or roaches, and regurges 1/5 of the pinkies he eats. he does pretty well on ground turkey/bonemeal/multivitamin combo, but when he wont eat anything else a little anole feeder from LLL is put in and he chases it around and gobbles it down. I know it isnt the greatest way to feed him,. but this dude cant afford to go on a hunger strike. Wihtin 2 hours of eating the lizard he will go right back to mice or turkey mush. My other water and two sav's have never had a problem eating

To who ever made this thread with the video in the tittle, Ive traced this guys IP and ISP. I'm working on getting his address, not gonna do anything to harm this guy because it is his right to do what he has done to that poor geeko. But I think I remember something about a epic box scam he wont be able to stop, If anyone wants in on this let me know!

SS4luck, it may be worth investigating for parasitic infestation, symptoms and history sound familiar.

the day i first got him i had him checked and he was given a "booster shot" (i forget what it was, i 20000000% trust my herp vet and has never once given anything to any of my animals without completely explaining what for, i just cant remember to save my life) and some king of deworming/de parasiter, but he is due saturday for his checkup.

It did seem a little strange to me too im just hoping this guy pulls through, he is a real beauty and minus his little eating quirk he is a really surprsingly tame, anti skitish little water.
