I use this thermometer/hydrometer in both of my panthers cages and I was wondering how accurate these are. I also use a laser infrared thermometer and it usually reads about a 3 degree difference. I also have a problem where it will never stay on Fahrenheit, it will beep and switch to Celsius which isn't a big problem more of just an annoyance.

How many do you have? Do you use 2 (one for each of your Panthers) or do you use just 1 unit to monitor both cages? I use that exact same thermometer/hygrometer. My handheld temp gun, aimed directly at the Zilla's temp probe face, reads the exact same temperature as the temperature readout on the Zilla LED display. So they read the same. My unit never beeps on its own or switches to Celcius on its own either....... when does it do this? I know there is a built-in alarm you can do with it somehow, although I've never had reason to use that feature for anything. Is it maybe set on yours somehow and thus causing the beeping? I wouldn't see why this would change it to Celcius though..... maybe your unit has become faulty? I'm really not sure. I love mine and it works great though. I can post pics of it on my cage when I'm home Sunday.

I have 1 for each cage. So a total of 2 units. I don't think it's faulty, it may be the alarm. I'll have to take a look at it soon and go through the settings again.

I got a new battery and it seems to work fine now. Earlier today i checked it and the temp said 103! I was thinking theres no way so i grabbed my temperature gun and that read 83. Anyways the low battery was making all crazy im assuming and it seems fine now.
