Cool. That's one of my places to see here in California that I have not gone to yet. Have they got freshwater displays as well? Or does Aquarium of the Pacific imply only salt water.

I have heard a lot of amazing things about this aquarium and from your pictures it looks like it was not just hype. I have got to make my way to that aquarium one of these summers.

I'm assuming it is only a salt water aquarium. Monterrey Bay Aquarium has a couple freshwater tanks with trout and some other fish.

WOW great pictures this place looks amazing im into reefs myself i have a 55g reef tank its my other money pit lol

Thanks for sharing your photos! Those dragon photos are simply stunning. I also had no idea so many species of jellies could be kept successfully now. The place looks absolutely amazing!

we're going to the SD Zoo tomorrow.... got any tips on what to see? should we get there early?

I am sure you can see it in the photos how the quality started to progress a bit better.... I wanna go back and try some of the techniques I made as I went through the exhibits. For the first five pictures in the second post I was using flash. I had a hot shoe cable and placing the flash up to the glass. Using flash I didn't think to dial down the F stop..... things like that i'd like to put a more fine tune on the techniques I was playing with. I think I could get some better shots of some of the other fish in tanks with pour lighting. I also wanna bring a black sheet so I can block out reflections.... Some tanks it was almost impossible to block the light using just my body...

thanks for the comments guys! I am gonna post my San Diego Zoo pics in a little bit in a new thread after I get them DLed from my camera.... 155 images LOL. I didn't realize till the end that I was shooting in Raw and JPEG....... could have kept some pics that I had deleted to make room for 'better' pics... damnit!
