Arcadia Bulbs

I was looking into switching the CFL fixtures with some T5 HO ones and was going to go with an Arcadia 6% T5 HO.. Would this suffice for a 22"27"48" enclosure with screen top? Or should I be looking at the 12%? Heard that the Arcadia lights were basically the best you can get and with the T5 size 6% should be enough I would think

For something 48" I would think 12% would be the way to go. However I would talk to Todd from lightyourreptiles he will set you up right!

Todd will more than likely tell you 12% i ended up going with 6% for my 48" just because my top screen is 1/4" holes. Just a tip, if your gonna order the arcadia you will get charged shipping and duties and can get pricey so I order my dual fixture with bulbs included and 3 more on the side was $40ish shipping for it all instead of $30 for a bulb.

These bulbs are certainly the best you can get. I use the 12% on 4' tall cages and they work great.

Talk to Todd-but like others said he'll probably say 12% for 48" tall cages.

Yep.

if your cage is tall, and you have some plants to provide some *useable* shade,
then the 12% bulbs will be good!.

But if there is not much plant growth for shade, then I would just do the 6% and you will also get great results.

Arcadia rocks.
And I have used and tried ALL UV bulbs over herps in my herping life of 36 years.


Replace once a year is fine.
They loose about 30% out-put over a years time in normal use.
But in some cases...
that is STILL MORE than some of cheapie bulbs START OUT WITH .
