Arcadia Lighting

Does anyone have a picture of the box for the Arcadia UVB lights?

I want to make sure what I find is the correct thing.

Ummmmm............
Hi!
Lol I don't know but that sounds like an important questions to ask.

I want UVB bulbs... What do all those you mentioned do?

Wellllll... T8 and T5 refer to the size of the bulbs, the HO stands for high output..
If your looking for new fixtures and bulbs T5HO is way to go imo, more UVB and MUCH brighter.
They are rather costly, but the arcadia bulbs last longer( about a year maybe more.)

6% and 12% refer to the output, I would compare a 6% to a 5.0 and 12% to a 10.0..

If your looking to just replace bulbs in standard t8 fixtures, arcadia makes them as well! Better than the "usuals" imo..

The best advice I can give you is to give Todd at LYR a call, he will help you get exactly what your looking for :)

I think I shall do that.

I would like brighter bulbs for sure, and I want better UVB bulbs that hopefully last longer, so Im not replacing them every 6 months or so... which when you have 5+ cages... gets costly, since they all have to be replaced at the same time.

Really a 6% T5 HO puts out alot more uv than a 10.0. Lets say a 6% = 5.0=5%, the T5 HO puts out 3x more light than a 5.0. They shouldnt mark lamps bases on percent, but on radiation. I could make a 10.0 led that is 1 watt, its not going to help much...

LoL, Your best bet IMO for awsome safe great looking lighting would be to go with the dual T5HO fixture with a 6% arcadia bulb in one side and a 6500 k in the other.
If you give Todd at Light your reptiles a call he will set you up. He is a site sponsor and awsome to deal with.
There are also pics on his web site :)

Thats how i roll. the zoomed ultrasun for fish is a perfect color match, and only 10 bucks if you shop around.

Just put my new quad T5HO on Zaphod's enclosure. :D:D:D:D:D WOW! (Could have done without the dual fixture, but I'm out of control ) Amazing difference! Great light penetration due to the reflector in the unit. Right now I am using one 6% UVB, and three other bulbs. (2 6500's and one plant pro) It also has some blue LEDs to simulate moonlight. I have this on for about a half hour after lights out (mainly for my enjoyment ;)) so he can settle in for the evening. Three different plugs (LED, and 2 sets of two T5 bulbs) help give a great simulated daylight pattern! Can't say enough! (Todd was extremely helpful, too!) Here are some pics...

this is exactly what i want. soon as i figure out how many more chameleons i am gonna be getting :D. i dont want to buy a small one when i can buy a large light set up for multiple cages.

how does your cham like the new lights?

Zaphod's Reaction so far...

He really seems a little more outgoing! He has spent a lot more time near the front door, and last night he actually did not turn in until the lights went off. Only the LED lights were on and he looked for a spot. So far - AMAZING! :D
