Are Chams "Heavy" Sleepers?

I'm asking because I shut my chameleons lights off at 8pm and I go to sleep much later so I'm up and about going in and out of my room also I have one small light on 15 feet from the cage.

Will this keep him up?

it think it depends on the cham. i could probally pick clair up and wave her around and she'd still be sleeping. chloe on the other hand, will wake up at a hint of light.

Lol that is funny that they have different sleep personalities. I intentionally woke mine the other day out of curiosity because he looked cute and harmless but he hissed and pounced at me instantly lol. He's a huge grouch.

Probably will be ok........ but you'll need to check on him for yourself. Both mine are pretty heavy sleepers, but I will put a cloth over them sometimes if I want the main light on and I'm busy drinking all night........

haha. yeah im sure. chams dont like being woken. but then, who does?

It totally depends on the cham, my male ambilobe can sleep through anything but my male sambava will wake up if I just turn a flashlight on him.

My newly acquired Nosy Be seems to sleep through anything. I moved his cage with him in it the first night here and I'm pretty sure he didn't even open his eyes to see what was up.

I'm in the room with mine for hours on the computer, watching TV, so I cover them at "lights out" to let them sleep. It's easy and cheap.

Light is bad but sound and movement are usually fine. Light is the only thing that does not occur in nature at night time. Ever mist a sleeping cham?

my cham might be a light sleeper I turned the tv on last night and looked in his cage and his eyes were opened, but then again my tv ir right next to my chams cage.

I'm probably going to have to just cover him

i think that its what you subject them to often enough. Try taking a country person to the city , he might say "it's too noisey i can't sleep". Then take a city person to the country, he might say "it's too quiet i can't sleep"

This is my first Cham , and i observe him ALOT!! Wake up to pee at 2am, i take a peek. First thing in the morning b4 i brush my teeth, i take a peek.

He is nottt a light sleeper, once he goes down i can watch tv and move about as i please and he is fastt asleep. The previous owner mentioned that he was a night owl and would often be up at late hours. So the Cham must be used to it and can sleep through the disturbance. Lucky me!

myns such a heavy sleeper only wakes up to my uvb bulb somtimes even falls asleep a couple minutes before lights turn off

mine will fall asleep around 9 pm every night regardless of the lights, mine will stick its head underneath a leaf and pass the f*%$k out. lol. I turn his lights off for him tho. adorable lil sleeper,

i found him the other day on his free range and he was so tired he walked a step and just put his head down and slept, didn't curl his tail nothing, just donezo

If there is any light in the room, my cham will take much longer to fall asleep.
I have him free ranging right now, and i had to mvoe him from one spot on his plant to another to get him to get in the shadows enough to sleep.
he is in my study and I use a floor lamp to house his bulbs.

My old chameleon Niles was the heaviest sleeper. You could set off a bomb and have him sleep through it. As for Waldo, if a feather falls he'll wake up.

I knew that chameleon where deaf!:-/
That will explain why my panther doesn't wake up if I use the Hoover or the hair dryer, but he might wake up if I turn the light on..

Every night I get off work I play a nice game called find the chameleon, and after 10-20 minutes I usually find him right in front of my face, staring at me like "Can I help you?"

I play that game too!
I just bought a 4.5 ft tall, 3 ft wide scheffelara, and my cham now free ranges on it. I spend every evening doing, the, where the f did he go?
Especially cuz my guy is free ranged.
Im going to spend even more time doing it once my baby hoe comes on saturday, when hes in his own large free range.
Kink my veiled, is 9 months, much bigger than a baby.
