Are Morios really that bad?

Are supers (morios) are really as bad for chams as I have read. I ask because I bought some as part of a variety of feeders for my girly Panther, Pixie. She is now refusing anything other than these damn supers! We are currently on day 2 of only offering crickets and roaches in her new feeder and she hasn't eaten anything. I know that a healthy chameleon won;t starve itself, but I think I might cave before she does! If I get them gutloaded really well are they really that bad as a staple? Obviously , I know that a varied diet is best but she just doesn't agree with me on that. If I put locusts in with her she shakes and bobs her head, a rather odd behaviour for a female!

They aren't "bad", but they are not a good staple. They are high in fat and shell content and, as you've experienced, are addictive. Since your chameleon has shown addictive tendencies, I'd be wary of ever offering them. If your chameleon hand feeds, offer them by hand, only after several appropriate items have been consumed. Usually a hand feeding chameleon is more concerned with the hand offering food and less about what the food actually is.

I agree, I have had a couple chams pass through my house with addictive tendencies. Usually my permanent residents don't have addictive problems. Though when Ryker was younger he was pretty bad with hornworms every now and then.
