Are water crystals bad for dogs if they ate one?

I just got water crystals and dropped a couple on the ground and I made sure my dog didnt get them but I started to wonder if it would be harmful to my dog if she accidently ingested a few? I googled it but came up with nothing

I think it depends on whether they are hydrated or not. Hydrated, I doubt they are a problem. Not hydrated, I think is potentially quite a problem. Particularly if you drop a large crystal.

Even a large crystal is not going to be anywhere near close to obstructing the lumen of a dog's intestines, unless we're talking about a tiny puppy. And that crystal will be easily broken by the contractions of the intestines if it even makes it past stomach acids. I've watched medium sized dogs poop out whole rubber balls over 2 inches in diameter. A squishy little water crystal would not concern me at all.

Thanks. I was more worried that it would be bad health wise rather then her not being able to take it down

Water crystals are none toxic and bio degradable, so they should pass with no effect if ingested in small quantities. The only real risk I could think of is slight dehydration, but they would have to eat lots of them (dry).

Since they are squishy and slippery when wet impaction shouldn't be an issue.
