Attempting to socialize my cham

He will readily eat out of my hand, but anytime my hand gets close with the intent to get him to crawl onto me, he gapes and hisses. I even tried today to trick him onto my hand with a treat. Is this just an adolescent thing? Seems to be very moody lately. Any help is appreciated.

Your on the right track just be patient.my guy was the same but since I started hand feeding he chilled out a lot.in the last week he's started walking out into my hand for feeding.get him to do this by if your feeding worms place them on your palm and gradually draw back until he has to walk onto your hand to get it.then try moving the worms further up your arm.fred comes to my elbow now.the same can be done with tickets or locust if you hold them over an out stretched arm
